What Our Reviews Reveal:
The Heart Behind Mueller Memorial's 5-Star Service

In the business of saying goodbye, numbers rarely tell the whole story. But sometimes, they speak volumes. When I recently reviewed the feedback we've received from the families we've served, I was both humbled and affirmed by what I found. As a 5-time winner of the "Best Funeral Home" award in our community, I wanted to dive deeper into what makes our service resonate so deeply with those we serve.
The Reviews Don't Lie
Across our St. Paul and White Bear Lake locations, an astounding 96% of our reviews are 5-star ratings. In an industry where families come to us on their worst days, achieving this level of satisfaction isn't just good business—it's a sacred trust fulfilled.
When we analyzed the themes mentioned most frequently in these reviews, two stood out above all: "compassionate staff" and "professional service." Beautiful facilities came in third, reminding us that while the environment matters, it's the human connection that families remember most.
"I don't think I can adequately put into words my gratitude for Mueller Memorial and their staff. We were devastated from our loss and found ourselves lost and unsure of next steps... Their guidance allowed us to transform the tragedy into a beautiful ceremony."
Who We Serve
Our review analysis revealed something interesting about who makes the arrangements when a loved one passes. Most often (42%), it's adult children planning services for their parents, followed by spouses (24%). This confirms what we've always believed: funeral planning is a family decision, often navigated by those experiencing profound role reversals or the sudden absence of a life partner.
We've also noticed evolving preferences in how families choose to remember their loved ones. While cremation has become the most requested option (42%), traditional burial remains deeply meaningful for many families (28%). What's particularly exciting is the growing interest in our eco-friendly options, which now represent 10% of our services.
Innovation Meets Tradition
At Mueller Memorial, we've always believed that respecting tradition doesn't mean resisting change. I'm particularly proud of our environmental innovations, including green burial options, water cremation (aquamation), and natural organic reduction ("human composting")—making us one of the few funeral homes in Minnesota offering all five forms of disposition.
Our commitment to the environment mirrors our commitment to the families we serve: with intention, respect, and an eye toward the future. When we introduced these options, some questioned if traditional families would embrace them. The answer has been a resounding yes. Today's families want choices that reflect their values—both the traditions they cherish and the planet they hope to preserve.
The Mueller Difference
Reading through hundreds of reviews, I noticed families rarely mentioned pricing (though we're transparent and competitive). Instead, they talked about feeling "cared for," appreciating our "attention to detail," and valuing our "helpful guidance" through unfamiliar terrain.
One reviewer described us as "taking the fear out of funeral planning"—perhaps the greatest compliment we could receive. Because that's exactly what drives our team: creating an environment where families feel safe making difficult decisions during vulnerable moments.
"Mueller went above and beyond for my family. In the midst of trauma and loss, Mary was such a rock... She showed me nothing but compassion, kindness, understanding. I am just so beyond thankful to have met her and to have had her by my side."
Looking Ahead
As funeral service continues to evolve, we remain committed to leading with both compassion and innovation. We're expanding our grief support programs, enhancing our celebration of life options, and continuing to find ways to make the impossible days a little more bearable for the families who trust us.
The reviews tell us we're on the right path. But we're never satisfied with yesterday's success. Every family deserves our very best, every time.
If you've entrusted us with caring for your loved one, thank you. If you're considering pre-planning or have immediate needs, know that our team—consistently mentioned as "compassionate," "professional," and "caring" in reviews—stands ready to serve your family with the same dedication that has earned us the community's trust for generations.
Gratefully;
Scott Mueller
