Steve Ostrowski, 76, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 5, 2025.
Born in Winona, Minnesota, on February 24, 1949, to the late Joseph and Anne Ostrowski, he was raised in Trempealeau, Wisconsin. Steve graduated from Winona State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He went on to a successful 40-year career in chemical sales, where he was widely respected as a consummate professional.
Steve will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, always able to bring laughter into any situation. A devoted family man, he dedicated his time, energy, and love to those closest to him. Known for being pragmatic, sensible, and reasonable — as well as a legendary “serial sneezer” — Steve was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin, friend, and grandfather.
In retirement, Steve found joy in reading (mostly history), fishing (ice, rod or bottle), hiking, watching sports (football, baseball, hockey and boxing), traveling (more reading), cooking (bacon), barbecuing (ribs and pork), and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diana; his daughter Ann (Richard); his sons Justin (Jess), Matt (Justine), and Brent (Rebecca); and his four cherished grandchildren: Ava, Georgia, Joseph, and Evelyn. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Anne Haley (Greg) and Kathy Jo, sister-in-law Arleen Kulis and cousin and best friend, David Ross.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 27 at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake, MN, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
Steve’s humor, dedication to family, and generous spirit touched all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
