Ruth Loretta (Young) Wilson (92)
Born September 28th, 1933 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to Walter and Freida Young. Ruth was the youngest of nine children. She was a fun, spirited girl who loved life. She was a homecoming queen who is now with our heavenly king.
Ruth is survived by the love of her life, Kenneth Wilson. Ken and Ruth were high school sweethearts, best of friends, and each other's biggest supporters. Ken and Ruth were blissfully married for 73 years. Ruth was strong in character, always saw the glass half full and willing to make sacrifices. The two of them created a wonderful family of nine children where she shined as a mother and wife.
Ruth didn't let motherhood keep her from having an adventure; she was giddy about Halloween, and loved to dress as a witch, hide in the shadows, and scare the unsuspecting neighbor kids. She organized Christmas talent shows for her children and eventually the grandkids. She learned to downhill ski alongside with her crew of kids, canoed with her family on the Flambeau River, and took up golf as a retiree. She was full of fun and most importantly love.
Ruth was a first-rate travel companion and loved to "hit the road" with Kenny in retirement. Their RV made frequent trips to Branson, MO and Grand Junction, CO, their favorite destination was Maui, which holds a special place in their hearts.
Ruth is survived by her nine children; Lorinda Mishek (Jim), Ken Mark Wilson (Shannon), Shelley Renner (Rick), Barb Paulson (Jeff), Kim Esch (Mike), Dianne Carlson (Tony), Amy Graebner (Paul), Ned Wilson (Theresa), Neil Wilson (Sarah), thirty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. It seemed she always had a baby in her arms.
Ruth's memory will be cherished by all of us who loved her, may she be forever Young.
A private family service and interment is planned.
