Richard Alan "Dick" Sand

SAND, Richard Alan "Dick" of White Bear Township, MN passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at 74, surrounded by family after a courageous twelve-year battle with cancer.

Born in Minneapolis, MN on October 28, 1951, to Robert and Antionette (née Amatuzio) Sand. Dick graduated from White Bear High School in 1969 and attended the University of Rhodesia and the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, graduating in 1974. He earned his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in 1977, propelling him into a lifelong passion of practicing as a criminal defense attorney and aiding in his 32- year tenure of civic service on the White Bear Town Board. Dick lived a life magnified by his love of family, baseball, adventure and endeavor, the practice of law, the community of White Bear Township, and, most importantly, his faith.

Dick is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Mary, with whom he walked hand-in- hand through life's journey as a reflection of God's faithfulness; children Richard (Rachel), William (Lauren), Robert, Antonia (DaKarai) Davison. He is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren; Margaret (8), Gabriella (8), Cecilia (7), William (6), Charlotte (4), as well as his eagerly anticipated granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Antionette (née Amatuzio) Sand.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3878 Highland Avenue White Bear Lake, MN 55110, with visitation at 10:00am and continuing until the time of service.
