Richard Ferguson

Ferguson, Richard “Fergy” 62, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from respiratory complications due to COVID-19. Fergy was born in the Philippines, moved to the United States when he was 7, and grew up in Long Beach, CA. After high school, he served in the US Navy for 11 years. He gave his life to Jesus in 1995 and served as a pastor for over 20 years. He had a heart for people, especially those who were going through a difficult time in their lives. He stopped and made time for anyone who wanted to chat. It was not uncommon for him to be delayed arriving somewhere because he had stopped to share his faith in Jesus with someone. Fergy also had a sense of humor. When meeting new people, he often would break the ice by introducing himself as “Fergy, the good looking one.” He loved spending time with family, cooking for others, and exploring Minnesota. He read through the Bible daily. He enjoyed studying the scriptures and mentoring other men on how to love Jesus, their wive’s and their children. He was preceded in death by his mom, Nena Higgins; dad, Thomas Ferguson; and his beloved dog, JT. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Thomas (Michelle), Sunsea (Jessie), Michelle, Jazmin (Anthony), and Elisha (Peri); grandchildren, Sunsea Jr., Kilo, Jenna Lee, Caitlin, Mikayla, David Jeremiah, Maui, Jose Luis, and Elijah; his dog, Fergy; and grand-dogs, Panda and Kona; and other brothers and sisters in Christ. Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 16th at Twin Cities Chinese Christian Church, 1752 Terrace Dr., Roseville.
