Reed Walstad

Reed Walstad (3/6/57-2/18/26)

Age 68, White Bear Township

Reed was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Pat Walstad and is survived by his wife Patti; children Becky (Bob), Dan (Sheila), and stepson Howie (Rachel); grandchildren Andy, Sam, Amaya, Hayden, Emma, and Trey; as well as brother Kim; sisters Julie, Janet, Bette, and Beth; and nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Born in Grand Rapids, he moved to White Bear Lake but always had a special place in his heart for the north woods. He grew up in Mahtomedi, spending years working at the family Dairy Queen and chasing adventure on dirt bikes, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. He moved his family to Keokuk, Iowa where he spent 6 years logging before returning to Minnesota in 1986. He dedicated much of his life to the White Bear Township Public Works where he spent 29 years serving the community. His passion for water quality lasted to his final days. He and Patti built a cabin in Willow River where they enjoyed hunting and riding four-wheelers. Reed was always willing to lend a hand to a stranger and dearly loved his pets. Though Reed will be missed by many, we know he's glad to be free from the family group chat.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mueller Memorial Funeral Home, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake with a service at noon. Reed's ashes will be spread up north at a later date.
