Raymond Tessier

January 30, 1933 — May 5, 2023

Raymond Arthur Tessier

1/30/1933 - 5/5/2023

Ray was born on January 30, 1933, to Edna (nee Leick) and Oliver Tessier in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attended St. Mary's of the Lake grade school and White Bear Lake High School. After attending high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served his country for four years. While in the Navy he attended a dance in Boston, where he met his beloved, Joan Palmquist and their love for one another began. Joan moved her family from Boston to Gem Lake to start her new life with Ray. They married in 1954. In the first years of their marriage, Ray built a beautiful home for his bride on Goose Lake Road in Gem Lake all the while he worked as a superintendent for Lindsey Water Softener Company. They raised six children together, traveled all over the United States and enjoyed many, many friends and relatives in their home for family celebrations. After 23 years at Lindsey, Ray went into business with his friend Tom Estrem as a machinist creating plastic injector moldings. After they retired and to escape the long cold Minnesota winters, they traveled as a couple to Goodyear, Arizona and Winter Ranch, Texas, making many new memories and friends. Eventually they sold their home in Gem Lake and moved to the Boulders in White Bear Lake. His beloved wife passed in July of 2020. Ray moved to Cerenity Care Center in 2021. Ray cherished visits from his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and grand dogs. Ray once said "There is nothing we would have done differently, we are very blessed." Preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Oliver; son, Robert; daughter in law, Pam. Survived by his sister, Mary Ann Grundhofer, children, Stephen, Ray (Gloria), Richard (Sandy), Scott (Lisa) Susan (Mike); daughter-in-law, Ann; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
