Michael Wardell Steele

Mike Steele, 58, died in his home on January 21, 2026.

Mike graduated from Stillwater High School (1985), attended Michigan Tech and the University of Minnesota, and dedicated over 36 years to his career at Dynamic Air, where he developed lasting relationships with colleagues and retired as Executive Vice President.

Mike possessed a truly generous and tender heart, with a contagious laugh and a warm smile for everyone he met. To know Mike was to feel his desire to take care of others, from family and friends to his dogs Gunner, Copper, and Schnitzel. He was a passionate and gifted cook who found real joy in feeding people, hosting gatherings, and bringing others together around the table. He also took great joy in the Minnesota outdoors: golfing, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and frequent trips to Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Mike is survived by his wife Cindy; his children, Dan, Jack, and Alec; his “bonus daughter” Ally Meyer and her children (Macy and Lexi); his parents Jim and Carol Steele; his siblings Greg Steele (Monica), Karen Steele (Pat McDonough), Jeanne Steele (Jim Auron); his parents-in-law Vonnie and Tony Habermann; his sisters- and brother-in-law Bev Dent (Jeff), Julie Johnson (Thor), Chris Habermann; his aunt Judy Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his godchild Emma and uncle Jeff Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Animal Humane Society.
