Mike was born in 1945 in St. Paul to Ray and Edna Reasoner. He had two brothers, Dan and Tim., all of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in the Midway area and graduated from Wilson High School. He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years Terry (McKeague), their three children - Jennifer (Benjamin), Angela and Ben (Kyla), four grandchildren Makennah, Delaney and Declan McLain and Emmett Reasoner, his sister-in-law Cathie and nieces Deena (Jon) and Renee and many other family members and friends.
He worked in graphic arts sales for many years, as well as in furniture and car sales. Mike was a true renaissance man and excelled at everything he did. His interests included: bowling (where he bowled a 300), golf, fishing, pool, pinball, curling, rock collecting, making agate belt buckles and pen sets, collecting baseball cards, playing guitar, telling “Dad Jokes,” baking cookies, making macaroni and cheese and dinners to share with others, playing Yahtzee, solitaire, and cribbage, and going on family vacations to Lake Kabetogama.
Mike was selfless, always putting his family and friends first. He affirmed and encouraged others, never wanting them to question how much he cared for them. His advice was freely given, without judgment and with great wisdom. He was a dedicated and loving husband, dad and grandpa.
Mike was a convert to the Catholic Church in 1979. He had a deep, unshakeable faith that was evident in all he did and said. Active in St. Mary of the Lake Parish, he served as a Eucharistic Minister, music minister and coordinator for the Parish Life Center Mass. Cursillo was a wonderful avenue of growth in his walk with the Lord. He ministered to many, many people during these Cursillo weekends; sharing his faith via music, words and deeds. He made many lasting friendships in this ministry. Mike was also involved with John Michael Talbot's ministry, Brothers and Sisters of Charity, and introduced his music to St. Mary's.
Tests indicated Mike had lung cancer, but he stopped short of getting the testing that would have confirmed this diagnosis. His health slowly declined over the last few years. He was on hospice for 3 1/2 weeks before he died. His wife and children were blessed to be able to say their goodbyes to him while he was still able to respond. We will all dearly miss him but know that he is in the arms of the Savior he loved and served so well.
