Michael D. Huseth
Age 80 of Mahtomedi
Died on April 18, 2026 at Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis due to complications of Parkinson's disease. Michael was born on June 3, 1945, in Superior, Wisconsin. Michael was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After his service, he pursued a successful career as an accountant, working the longest at Pier Foundry for over 20 years.
Michael made a great life with his wife Gayle. They raised two daughters, Rebecca and Amanda. Their family continued to grow over the years and he gained the loving title of "Grumpa."
In his spare time, Michael was an avid golfer and reader. He also had a passion for travel, sharing adventures with his family. A true car enthusiast, Michael looked forward to the annual MSRA Back to the 50's weekend, where he enjoyed celebrating classic cars.
Survived by wife, Gayle; children, Rebecca (Jay) Smith & Amanda (Bob) vanDoorn; 5 grandchildren, Francesca vanDoorn (Kevin), Andrew Smith, Joshua Smith, Minetta vanDoorn (Jon), Jared vanDoorn; 5 siblings, Scott in Utah, Brad (Mary), Doug (Kathy), Deb (Dan), and Lori all in Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Barb in Blaine.
Michael will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Donations preferred to Mission Jamaica.
