Marian Salo
1941 – 2026
Marian Salo, age 84, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Marian was the heart of her family — a devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, aunt, and loyal friend. She lived her life with deep compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. Her Roman Catholic faith guided her through every season of life and gave her comfort, purpose, and grace.
Nothing brought Marian more happiness than her family, especially her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, whether through laughter, traditions, simple conversations, or just being together. Her love was constant, comforting, and unconditional, and the impact she made on those around her will never be forgotten.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, resilience, and the way she made people feel cared for and welcomed. Her presence was a gift to so many.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Hildegarde (Marshik) and Stephen Zimney; and her sisters, Irene (Larry) Pennypacker, Jeanne (Walt) O’Malley, Donna Zimny, Johnelle Zimney, and Denise Noga.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Sarah (Mike) Wolff and Maria (Sam) Buche; her beloved grandchildren, Bailee, Gavin, Jase, Easton, Everett, and Maeve; as well as many siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss her deeply and carry her memory forward with love.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Jerome, 380 Roselawn Ave E, Maplewood, MN 55117, with visitation one hour prior at the church.
