Kristine “Kris” Marie Habben (nee Pitra)
Passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2022 at the age of 55.
Kris was beloved by her family and friends.

Kris was born on November 24, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Terry Pitra. On April 4, 1987 she married Robert “RJ” Habben.
Kris will be remembered for her bright smile, beautiful blue eyes and sun-kissed freckles. You couldn’t help but smile back when you got that smile from her.
Kris loved to travel with her parents, children and RJ. She enjoyed her time in the Arizona desert hiking amongst the cactus and on the beaches of Hawaii and Mexico collecting shells and seeing the sea turtles.
Kris made THE BEST Spritz Cookies, her nephews’ always requested her Veggie Pizza and she brought her famous Chex Mix to every family gathering.
Ellen, Jeff and RJ were Kris’s whole world. Her pets were a very close second – Copper, Nemo, Comet, Jack and Bigsby. She was such a proud mom and wife. Two of her happiest days in recent years were seeing Ellen and Jeff get married.
Kris had such a love of and a gift for growing and creating beautiful things. In the summers she had such beautiful perennial gardens and pots of flowers in her yard. It was always so fun to take a walk to see her flowers.
Kris’s gift for creating beautiful things is one she probably didn’t even think about as a gift – but it truly was. She created gorgeous cross stitch, tiny clay animals, lovely jewelry and in recent years she painted and decorated cookies with Ellen. Creating in these ways often brought her a measure of peace.

Kris is preceded in death by her stillborn daughter, Allison; uncle and godfather, Ronald Pitra; father-in-law, Bob Habben; sister-in-law, Kelly Habben and grandparents, Florence and John Pitra and Margie Sample. Kris is survived by her husband, RJ; children, Ellen (Josh) Bond and Jeffrey (Caroline) Habben; parents, John and Terry Pitra; siblings, Thomas (Darcy) Pitra and Jeanine (Brian Crouch) Pitra; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Habben;  brothers-in-law, Tom (Terri) Habben and Terry (Pat) Habben; nephews, Alex (Katlyn) Pitra, Ethan Pitra, Nick Habben, Tim Habben and niece, Leeann Habben and by many other family members and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be from 2-5pm on Sunday, July 10^th at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake.
