Judith Hellige

Judith Ann Hellige (nee Trombley), 78, of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond E. Sr. and Norma I. Trombley. Survived by, husband, Everett Hellige; children, Terrance (Deb Braun) Hellige and Tammy Thompson; grandchildren, Mason and Connor Hellige and Jordan and Justin Thompson; great grandchildren, Brody, Nathan, and Joey Hellige; brother, Raymond (Linda) Trombley Jr. and his family; and best friend since 2nd grade, Mary Vanderhoff. Judy was born in St. Paul to Raymond and Norma Trombley and had a younger brother, Raymond Jr. (AKA Rick). She graduated from Johnson High School in 1959. Judy worked at the Golden Rule as a teenager and represented them in beauty pageants and won. She went on a blind date with Everett Jr. in his red 1959 Ford convertible, after marriage she had two children, Terry and Tammy. She worked for 3M in 1967 and retired in 2000 after 33 years of service as a Coordinator of Administration. Judy was a long-time parishioner at Transfiguration Catholic Church, where her and her best friend Mary Vanderhoff would usually carry up the gifts at Saturday night mass. In her free time, Judy enjoyed reading, bowling, dealing Blackjack for Ace High Casino and fishing with her husband Everett (Jr.). Judy caught a 25 lb. northern and a 12 lb. walleye and won many fishing contests. Judy was a great cook and loved to have the holidays and entertain family and friends. She especially enjoyed making the family traditions: cheesy hash browns for Easter, “Tourtiere a la viande” French meat pie for Thanksgiving, and Christmas was all about the cookies, especially the “spritz”. More than anything in the world, she loved being a wife to Everett, mom to Terry and Tammy, and a me'me' to her 4 grandsons, Mason, Connor, Jordan, and Justin and 3 great-grandsons, Brody, Nathan, and Joey. We love you Mom xoxo A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 11 am at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th Street North, Oakdale, with visitation from 9 am to the time of the service.
