Joshua “Josh” Jon Paradis, age 38 of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, passed suddenly into
heaven on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends. Josh
had courageously battled painful nerve damage stemming from Guillain-Barré since
2023, facing each challenge with the same quiet strength and unwavering spirit that
defined him until his physical body gave in.
Born on April 14, 1987, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Josh grew up in the close-knit
community of White Bear Lake. A proud graduate of White Bear Lake High School,
Class of 2006, he formed lifelong friendships and discovered his passion for making
others feel loved. After high school, Josh worked in tech services with Convey and
Blackbaud and enjoyed serving and waiting on the weekends at Washington Square.
Josh was a man of profound kindness, infectious humor, and unshakable loyalty. He
cherished his family, always ready with a witty remark to lighten the mood or a helping
hand to those in need. Whether gathered at the "Square" for stories and laughter or out
with friends, Josh had a way of making others feel special. Josh put his faith in Christ at
a young age and enjoyed studying and discussing the bible. His faith was evident by the
expressions of kindness that he demonstrated and his love for life in the joy he brought
to others, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Josh is survived by his devoted parents, Jon (Anne) Paradis and Darla (Ron) Von Wald;
his siblings, Kyle Paradis (girlfriend Chelsee), Nate (Kennedy) Paradis, and Alyssa
Paradis; his cherished nieces Nora and Delilah, grandparents Ginny Paradis and Helen
Peterson, stepsisters Josie Lavato, Katie Rassatt, Alison Fiske and Stepbrothers Noah
and Ethan Von Wald as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who were a
significant part of Joshes life. He was preceded in death by both grandfathers Percy
Paradis, and Donald Peterson, as well as a very close friend group, many since
childhood.

Joshua 24:15 Was Josh's favorite verse - this is a contemporary version.
"Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve (whether it be things of the past, or
the gods of today) but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
