Joanne Feyereisen (Newpower), 88, of St. Paul, MN, and formerly of Bellevue, Washington, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine and former spouse, Donald. She is survived by her children, Robert (Susi), Susan (Dave), Paul (Becky), Bradley (Kim), and Nicholas; grandchildren, Simone, Archer, Ethan, Erika, Grace, Tyler (Mckenna), Brynna, Tanner, Parker, and Cole; step grandchildren, Alyssa and Nick; siblings, William, Kathy, Jean (Richard); and many nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

Joanne was born on May 8, 1937, to William and Josephine (Nahurski) Newpower. She grew up in St. Paul, graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1955, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the College of Saint Catherine. During her high school and college summers, she worked at Prudential Insurance Company, keeping records and working as a company cashier. Joanne started her teaching career at St. Rose of Lima, then taught at St. Therese and Roosevelt Elementary in South St. Paul. After marrying Donald in 1964, they moved to Bellevue, Washington. There, Joanne was a devoted mother, helped run the family construction business, served on the school PTA and advisory council, volunteered with Little League, taught religious education, and worked as the religious education office manager. She and her family loved exploring the Pacific Northwest and made lifelong friends along the way.

When Joanne moved back to St. Paul in the 1980s, she returned to the insurance industry and worked as a contract analyst for Northwestern National Life/ING in Minneapolis. She retired in 2006 after making many close friends. In retirement, Joanne loved being a grandmother to her 10 grandchildren and enjoyed taking senior classes with her longtime friends, where they always made time for lunch afterward to stay connected.

Joanne was deeply dedicated to her family, friends, and career. She cared for her mother as she grew older and often brought loved ones together for holidays and special events. Joanne was known for managing many things at once, staying calm under pressure, paying attention to detail, and stepping up when needed. Everyone always knew where Joanne stood, and her warmth, laughter, and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her.
