Jeanne Kelcher

Kelcher (Schiff), Jeanne Marie, 76, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Sr.; and parents, Walter and Margaret Schiff. She is survived by her sons, Bernie Jr. (Jean) and Dave (Kim); grandchildren, Jake (Cassie), Sam, Kylie, Alison, and Grant; siblings, Tom (Gail) Schiff, Chris (Larry) Bruner, and Bill (Jan) Schiff; sister-in-law, Patty Ann Jorgensen; and other family and friends.

In addition to leading the catechism program for St. Ambrose Church for many years, Jeanne was also the President of the Council of Catholic Women for the church, too, as well as a long-time member of the church choir. 

She enjoyed cooking (countless hours were spent debating whether her pumpkin or apple pie were better), spending time with her family, calligraphy, and finding good deals.  She retired from Dayton’s/Macy’s after spending many years working in their cash/ticket office, providing joy to many people looking for good concert tickets – especially her two teenaged sons.

She was a Cub Scouts den mother, bowled in a mixed-doubles league with her husband and parents for many years, and never forgot a person’s name. 

She had many friends and caregivers that she – and her family – will be eternally grateful for having known.  Special heartfelt thanks to Jeanne’s friends Patricia Swanson, Julie Krings, Joylin (a CNA with Woodbury Estates), and Angie (an RN with HealthPartners Hospice) for their constant support, care, and love. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Presentation of Mary Catholic Church, 1725 Kennard St, Maplewood, MN 55109, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM and Rosary service at 9 AM. Private Interment.
