James David Felske

James D. Felske, "Jim," 77, of North Oaks, passed away on June 18, 2026. Jim was an extraordinarily talented researcher and professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, making significant contributions to the scientific community in the areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and several other related fields. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father, and spent his final days with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Joyce; son, Jonathan (49) and his wife Kelli; daughter, Jenny (44) and her fiancé Brian; and grandchildren, Evan, Lucas, and Keira. Jim's family is thankful for the fellowship and care from the staff at Waverly Gardens. A private service was held by the family. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor or celebrate Jim's memory, a donation to the Steven L. Shaw Memorial International Student Emergency Fund, Donation Link, at the University of Buffalo, NY where Jim taught for many years is preferred.
