Age 79 of Mahtomedi, MN

Passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 26, 2022. Preceded in death by parents Leon and Grace and survived by wife Karen, son Greg (Jodie) and daughter Amy (Tim), sister Deb Macken, niece Tracy Voller and nephew Brian Evavold. Loving grandpa to Nick, Nate, Tova and Lula, 

Gil was born on April 15, 1943 in Fergus Falls, MN. He spent his childhood in Ashby, MN and attended the U of M where he met and later married Karen on August 27, 1966. After finishing graduate school, he accepted his dream job as Research Chemist at 3M, where he worked his entire career. 

He generously volunteered his time to his church and community and enjoyed every-day adventures with family and friends. He loved fishing, reading, golfing, music, cross country skiing, nature hikes, bird watching and exploring the world with Karen. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake (1660 Birch Lake Ave) on Saturday, August 27. Visitation will be at 11AM, followed by a service at 12 PM, noon, then a light lunch enjoyed outdoors. Masks required indoors. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church of White Bear Lake, or donor’s choice.
