Gary Wayne Preiss

Gary Wayne Preiss of White Bear Lake, passed away April 6th, 2026 at the age of 78.

He was born April 25th, 1947, in Shakopee, MN to Earl and Lenora (Schimel) Preiss.

Gary graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1969 and was a long-time machinist with MTS Systems.

He married the love of his life, Joan (Czech), on October 25th, 1980. Gary and Joan enjoyed raising their family in Minneapolis, where they lived until they recently moved to White Bear Lake to be near their grandchildren.

Gary was quick to befriend those around him. He loved bowling, listening to music, playing cards, fishing and watching comedies.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother James Preiss, sister-in-law Dona Preiss and daughter-in-law Leah Preiss.
Gary is survived by his wife Joan; two sons, Brian (Renea) Preiss of Niangua, MO and Philip (Lindsey) Preiss of White Bear Lake, MN; his two grandsons Holden and Miles Preiss: and his brother Rick (Milissa) Preiss of Sartell, MN.

Friends and family are invited to remember Gary on his birthday at a celebration of his life, held Saturday, April 25th 2026 at Mueller Funeral Home, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake, MN. Visitation will begin at 11am and Time of Sharing will start at 12pm. Reception to follow.
