Eunice "Bertily" Winger passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on September 27, 1925, in Antigo, Wisconsin, Eunice was the daughter of Robert and Mary Lex. She is now reunited with her late parents, as well as her siblings Joseph, George, Rose, Katie, and Caroline, in eternal rest.
She was first united in holy matrimony with Allen M. Winger and, after his passing, with Paul Duffek, both of whom preceded her in death. Eunice leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Marisue Atkinson and husband Kym of Atlanta, GA; Teriann Drobnick of Kimberly, WI; Jonell King of Whitehall, WI; Patty Kaye Norton of St. Paul, MN; James Winger and wife Laura of Lilydale, MN; and Brian Winger and partner Suzanne of Woodbury, MN. Eunice's heart overflowed with pride and joy for her treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored dearly.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, reflected in her membership at St. Pascal's Church. Eunice volunteered for Meals on Wheels, spreading kindness and care to those in need. She delighted in playing 500, crafting rosaries, reading, and was an enthusiastic Minnesota Vikings fan. Her coveted "pigs in a blanket" were a cherished Christmas tradition enjoyed by all. Eunice enjoyed making family movies and attending gatherings. A song, "Diamonds on Her Toes," was penned by her sons for the cherished EuniceFest celebrations. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7 at St. Pascal's Church, located at 1757 Conway Street, St. Paul, MN 55106, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering which will be announced at a later date.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cerenity Care Center- Marian for their attentive care.
