Ellen Letourneau

Ellen D. Letourneau (nee, Bossard), age 82, of White Bear Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital.

Ellen was born on November 16, 1940, in St. Paul, to Allen and Dorothy (Niven) Bossard. She grew up on the east side of St. Paul, and was a graduate of Johnson High School. She was united in marriage to Dale Letourneau on May 15, 1965, and the couple had three children.

Ellen worked in retail and as a receptionist at several podiatry practices, and was very involved in the VFW, even serving as president of both the Anderson-Nelson Post 1635 and Minnesota District 4. In her free time, Ellen enjoyed spending time with her friends, reading and bowling. She loved watching her grandchildren’s sports and activities and was a proud mother and grandmother. She often traveled to visit Michele and her family in Wisconsin and enjoyed her time at the lake house in recent years. Ellen had a great sense of humor and was a kind and outgoing person. Though she faced many hardships in life, she was tough and resilient. Ellen was a friend to everyone and will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dale. She leaves behind her children, Michele (Ronald) Dufresne, Dan Letourneau, and Dennis (Natalie Patera) Letourneau; her grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, and Jonathan Dufresne, Lauren (Evan) Gettler, Brittany Thompson, Isaac Letourneau, Stacy (Inang) Ekah and Aiden and Oliver Letourneau; siblings, Barbara (Jim) Rubbelke and Allen (Judy) Bossard Jr.; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service honoring and celebrating Ellen’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 7:00 PM at Mueller Memorial - White Bear Lake Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 PM.
