Elaine Margaret (Peltier) Bauman

Our beautiful momma and grandma passed away on August 3, 2023. She is now in the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with her 8th grade sweetheart, our daddy and papa, Steven D. Bauman.

Those who knew her would say "she is such a sweet lady!" To her family, she was ALWAYS a loving mom and grandma, unconditionally.

Lainie and Steve got married in January 1963 when they were only 18 years old. They raised a family and took pride in spending time with them. They enjoyed family vacations, camping, bonfires, playing cards, going to the casino, pontoon rides and drive-in movies. They were both a huge influence in sports for the youth and as coaches on the Eastside of St. Paul. Lainie and Steve always made time for family and friends, but they also made time for each other and took special random road trips; just the two of them.

Lainie loved taking care of people her entire life. She was an EMT for Pine County as well as working at Pine City Elementary School in the nurse's office. She was a caregiver to her husband Steve for many years as he fought against multiple cancers. Steve lost his battle to cancer in 2014 and Lainie lost the love of her life.

About 4 ½ years ago, Lainie was diagnosed with vascular dementia. She moved to Good Life Senior Living in Hugo, Minnesota in March 2022. She quickly became that "such a sweet lady" to the staff. Lainie made it clear to everyone, she wanted to go home to Jesus and her husband. About 3 weeks ago, we knew the time was near. She started with St. Croix Hospice 2 weeks ago and transitioned fast to her wish. Lainie was ready to GO HOME.

She is preceded in death by her husband Steve and mother Mildred Peltier. Survived by daughters Becky Metz (Dave), Sandra Bauman, sons Doug (Brenda) and Brian (Donna) along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support. You have been amazing throughout this journey. We would also like to thank the care teams at Good Life and St. Croix Hospice for their loving touch on our momma.

The family will be holding a private celebration of life.
