Edward Imdieke

January 27, 1940 — June 28, 2024

Longtime Mahtomedi resident, Edward Joseph Imdieke, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024 at the Woodbury Care Center.

Ed's life began on January 27, 1940 in Belgrade, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Theresa Imdieke.

He spent much of his childhood working on his Uncle Otto's farm near West Union, Minnesota. He proudly told stories of the time he spent on the farm, and this is where his love for John Deere Tractors was cultivated.

After graduation from Melrose HS in 1958, Ed joined the Navy where he proudly served on the President's ship for 4 years. When he returned from serving he began his career at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Here he met his future wife Vicki (Miller) Imdieke. They married on August 14, 1965 and together they raised 3 children.

Dad always enjoyed watching any sporting event. He was an avid Twins & Vikings fan and could often be found sitting in his man cave watching 3 games at once. He loved to be outside working in his yard or sitting in his garage watching cars and people go by, always with a dog by his side.

In 1996, Ed became a Grandpa. His grandchildren have many happy stories of time they spent together watching games, swimming in the lake, going out to breakfast, and playing with his trains and tactors.

Ed will be missed by his wife of 60 years; his children, Brady Imdieke of Woodbury, Paige (Denny) Fringer of Colorado, and Tonya (Steve) Harty of Woodbury; his grandchildren, Tori & RJ, Dathan & Veronica, Casey, Annabelle, and Ben; and his great-grandchildren, Brielle & Elena; his sister, Mary (Imdieke) Hoffman and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, James Hoffman; and his niece, Mara Hoffman-Hess.
