Dorothy H. Suchor (nee Holz), 94, of North Oaks, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at Waverly Gardens, surrounded by love.
Born on January 26, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Andreas & Hedwig Holz. Dorothy graduated from Amundsen High School and held secretarial jobs with several companies in the Chicago area.
On August 9, 1952, Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert Charles, and together they built a home filled with warmth, faith, and laughter, raising three children. She & Bob moved to Minnesota in 1975 for Bob's job with Deluxe Corporation. She worked at 3M in the tax division for many years before retiring in 1993.
She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in White Bear, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, served as a Deacon, actively participated in many committees and groups, including The Gathering, and was a hard worker with the church rummage sales for many years. In retirement she took up quilting and her quilts provide love and warmth to many family members.
Dorothy was a very social person, making friends easily. She always had an entertaining story to relate and had a wonderful sense of humor. She made you smile just to spend time with her.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Gerry) of Hugo, MN, Jan (the late Stan) of Plugerville TX and Mark (Cathy) of Oviedo, FL; her five grandchildren, Lisa, Karrie (Brent), Kim, Zac (Shanaya) and Bob (Esther); her three great-grandchildren, Cameron (Ashley), Sariah, and Zion; her 2 great-great-grandchildren, Matteo and Camilla; her sister-in-law Charlene (the late Donald) and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Kurt A. Holz (the late Frances) her sister, Elsie M. Kraner (the late Robert), her grandson Benjamin, her parents-in law James J. & Charlotte Suchor, and her brother-in-law James W. Suchor (the late Josephine).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00pm at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choosing in her memory.
