Diana Luciani

d. March 3, 2024

Diana Luciani, Age 87, passed peacefully on March 3, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, Giacomo "Jim" Luciani. Survived by daughter, Luisa; and son, Marco, both of St. Paul; sister, Nina Stallkamp, of CA; and many nieces; nephews; and beloved friends. Diana was a huge baseball fan growing up in Michigan and rooted for the Detroit Tigers all he life. After completing her college degree, Diana won a Fulbright Scholarship to study chemistry in Italy where she obtained her Masters. She also met and married her husband there. Fluent in Italian and French, she enjoyed traveling, seeing new places and spending time with her European relatives. Diana and Jim returned to the Unites States to raise their family. She was devoted to her children. While trained in the sciences, her real love was music and the Arts. She was a talented vocalist and visual artist. Many of her happiest years were spent as head Costumer for Hill-Murray High School and Community Theater. Several of the kids she worked with there called her Mamma Luch. An avid reader, her home was always filled with books. The joke was that it looked more like a library than a house. She passed this love of reading and the Arts on to both her children. A spiritual woman of great faith, she believed deeply in social justice. Diana was kind, fiercely intelligent, generous, beautiful and a bit of a fashionista. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. "There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love" - Thornton Wilder. We love you very much mom, see you on the other side of the bridge. A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in support of your favorite local Arts Organization or St. Therese hospice at St. Odilia.
