David McGuire

November 5, 1950 — July 3, 2023

DAVID TIMOTHY MCGUIRE 72, passed peacefully on 7/3/23, with the hands of his sons, nephew and wife laid upon his chest. Born the 9th of 14 children to Thomas and Luella McGuire of NE MPLS on 11/5/1950, he graduated from Edison High School in 1969 and enlisted in the Navy. After serving his country, David found much success in the printing industry as a sales representative. Of his marriage to Sue Elavsky in 1970, three sons were born: Christopher, Charles and Benjamin. In 1984 he married Adelaide Rocourt. David is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters - Lyn & Barb, 5 brothers - Tom, Dan, Tim, Jeff & Bill, and is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, his 3 sons, 3 granddaughters - Julia, Jenna and Celina, 3 sisters - Sharon, Diane and Kate, 3 brothers - James, Michael and Donovan, and dozens of beloved nieces and nephews, each uniquely held in a special chamber of David's heart. A private burial is planned, and a celebration of life will be held Sunday 7/23/2023 between 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Oak Marsh Golf Course at 526 Inwood Ave N, Oakdale, MN 55128. Meet & greet begins at 2:00, memorial service at 3:00, food & beverage at 4:00. Services provided by Mueller Memorial in St. Paul. The family is forever grateful to the MPLS VA for their phenomenal medical care and compassion. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of, kindly consider memorials to the DAV or Eastside Meals-on-Wheels. You may also honor Dave by volunteering with the DAV to drive veterans to medical appointments or by delivering meals-on-wheels.
