Cynthia "Cindy" Johnston passed away on July 24, 2025. Born in Park Rapids, MN, Cindy moved to the Twin Cities as a child, where she built a life filled with love and laughter. Her legacy lives on in her four beloved children, Allan (Kaylee) Johnston, Steven Johnston, Michael (Ellen) Johnston, and Angela (Derek) Boone, and her four beautiful grandchildren, Inga Boone, Chloe Johnston, Lila Boone, and Troy Johnston, her brother, Norman (Shelley) Gartner, sister-in-law, Gayle Gartner and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ingeborg Gartner, her father, Joseph Gartner, and her brother, Gary Gartner.

Cindy's love for her family was deep-rooted, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time laughing and enjoying the company of her children and grandchildren. She cherished the memories of many vacations exploring the US with her family.

Cindy loved all children and served her community as a Preschool and Special Education teacher for many years. She treasured her German heritage and spent many summers as a child exploring the hills of Germany where her mother grew up as well as visiting her large, extended family in Park Rapids. Between visits with her family, she loved reading, gardening, and watching movies. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.

A wake is scheduled for Wednesday July 30th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Mueller Memorial Funeral Home, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake, MN, 55110. Cindy will be laid to rest in Two Inlets, Minnesota at a later date.
