Connie Mueller

February 15, 1927 — August 4, 2022

Constance Claire “Connie” Mueller (nee Miller)

Connie Mueller, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and community leader of White Bear Lake (formerly of Marco Island, Florida) passed away at age 95 on August 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Connie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Alrid “Al” Mueller, son Mark and daughter, Debra Shambo.

She is survived by seven children: Todd (Michele), Craig (Patty), Scott (Heidi), Connie (Kurt) Johnson, Keith (Jennifer), Dan (Pam), Julie (Regina Collinson) and her son-in-law, Douglas. Connie was the proud grandmother to: Peter (Annie), Christopher, Max, Lauren (Joel) Doran, Andrew (Meggie), Annie (Ben) Saukko, Taelor (Trevor) Johnson, Hannah Johnson (Alvaro Garcia Blanco), Nick, Ellie, Elizabeth and Sophie and Great grandmother to: Kaitlyn, Claire, Summer, Charlie, Siri, Amy and Pepe.

Beyond motherhood, Connie was devoted to every aspect of Al’s life, including the creation, development and ongoing success of Mueller Memorial, founded in 1946.

Giving back to her community was immensely important to Connie. She was a leader in the Women’s Division of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival, Chair of the Board of St. Joseph’s Hospital, event chair of the Minnesota Orchestra Symphony Ball, and co-founder of the Wishing Well Foundation of Marco Island, Florida. At the age of 84 she co-chaired the Tournament of Saints, a successful golf outing supporting the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches (now known as Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul). Giving back while supporting her kids was something she treasured. Connie was Troop Leader for her daughter’s Campfire Girls and served many years in the St. Thomas Academy Mother’s Club.

Her faith was central to her throughout her life. She attended Mass daily while living in Florida and was honored to serve as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. In assisted living, Connie’s most peaceful moment of the day was at 3 pm when residents would gather in the library to say the rosary.
